Max smiled widely at Valerie. "Lovely to meet you, Miss Valerie." He dipped his head in a respectful manner. "Kyp is taking Max for a tour of your humble abode." Before departing, Max blew some flowers around Valerie's head - a sign that he held her in respect.

"Might as well check out the town then." There was a cool breeze blowing, stirring what leaves there were on the ground. It almost reminded him of home.

Suddenly remembering her desire for fresh air, Valerie smiled once more at the pair of them, and exited hurriedly out the door before they even reached it.
She leapt across the Embourine grounds, breathing in the fresh air thankfully. She reached the edge of the little forest in their property where she had slept last night, and darted around the trees playfully.
I wonder what Kyp meant when she said Sebastian has some news, Valerie suddenly thought. I hope nothing's gone wrong...

Sebastian stood, watching Valerie play, his face was fond, yet incredibly incredibly sad. He sighed ever so softly, before he pulled his white gloves a little further up onto his hands and stepped out into her view. "Miss Valerie... There is news that you need to hear."
Kyp just shrugged as Valerie disappeared, Valerie always had been a strange one. Suddenly she remembered her purpose. "To the cellar!" she cried, her eyes twinkling as she led him down a long long long dark spiral staircase, into a huge beautifully handcarved cave-like cellar. "Darid?" she called into the darkness.

"102!" Max exclaimed loudly when they reached the bottom of the stairs. Then he realised that Kyp probably had no idea what he was talking about. "Stairs, I mean. 102 stairs. Nice door."

"Huh?" Valerie said, stopping dead. Had he been spying on her making a fool of herself?[question mark] "What is it?"

Kyp just laughed, and soon an elf, a man, with long raven hair tied up in a strange bun fixed with chopstick-like things appeared. "Oh, Kyp." he saw Max and seemed a little shocked. "Sorry, I didn't know we had visitors." he said, fixing a lock of hair that had fallen beside his face back up into the bun.

Sebastian looked like he was about to say something, but stopped and sighed instead with a slightly sympathetic sad look on his face. "That Master Embourne, your father... He died."

"Oh, sorry, sir. My name's Max. Kyp here's giving me a tour. Spoke very highly of you, sir."

Darid just laughed. "She is much too kind." he chuckled, the lock of hair he had pushed back before falling out over his face again. His hair was very long, the bit that had fallen out reached to about his knees. "Would you like something to drink? This years ladrahel is particularly good." he said amiably. Ladrahel was a sparkling white wine, made only in that particular part of the world. It was said to taste like spring itself, and Darid was a master brewer. Much of his work found its way to expensive markets in the grand cities of the world.

((reached to his knees? )) "Oooh, that sounds exquisite. Yes please mr...[question mark]" Max paused, waiting to be told the cellar's name. Darid had the most delightful smell that wafted around him and made Max's mouth water.

[[there is a reason for it, ill tell you soon]]
Darid smiled widely. "Darid Youngman, you may have heard of the Youngman wines, and that's me." he said with a grin. "Ladrahal! I need a drink." he said brightly, disappearing and returning with a table, some chairs three glasses and a bottle of wine all balanced in his arms.

"That Master Embourne, your father... He died." ((Lol, a little direct...)) Valerie stepped back. "D - Died?! What? How?[question mark]"

Max took a seat. "Sorry, Mr Darid, I have not heard of your wines before. I travel a lot and don't tend to drink much, let alone familiarise myself with different labels. I'm sure it is delicious, however."

Darid laughed, pouring the three glasses and filling them to the brim. "Fear not, Master Max, for though you have mildly wounded by pride, I need no apology. If you do not like this drink, then it will be I who apologise." he said, lifting his glass. Ladrahal, it was a drink distilled from Spring, from certian flowers and fruits, and it burst on the tongue like warm sunlight. It was soft, and not a harsh taste, but rather a taste that one could enjoy without actually remembering it was alcohol. It was vrey different to the rough meads and suchlike that most of the populace had.
Sebastian nodded softly. "He died of his illness, his heart failed. I am sorry, Miss Valerie."

Max's eyes widened as the Ladrahal touched his tongue. Without saying a single word, he finished his glass rather quickly. "My word what a drink." He held his glass out for a re-fill. "You have captured the very essence of Spring and squeezed it's juice into a bottle." He gave his glass a shake so as to make it clear what he wanted although he did it almost subconciously.

Darid laughed, generously refilling his glass. Kyp was meanwhile sipping her glass with a chuckle.

Valerie stepped back, shaking her head. She didn't understand. With an anguished cry, she fled into the heart of the forest.

Thespia noticed a young woman, running away.
"Shall we?" She said, giving Oswin a sidelong glance, and casually departing after Valerie anyway.

Valerie found a good, strong tree in the centre of the forest and started climbing it desperately. She climbed nearly to the top in the thin branches, and then curled up into a ball and sat there, motionless. What did this mean? Who was the next master of the Embourines? Surely not her mother, she couldn't even control her children. Valerie grinned wickedly at the thought. Where did this situation put her? Huh? What's that? She heard someone approaching...

Thespia scrambled into the tree and perched there, head hovering near Valerie's shoulder.
"Why so serious?" She asked, "Things can't be all that bad can they?"

Having been lost in his thoughts Oswin didn't even notice Thespia had gone Untill he saw her running into the tree line out of the corner on his eye. Hsving no tracking skills at all, all he could realy do was start wandering though the woods calling her name. He considered just cutting down the trees, but decided against it after he saw the remains a deer caought under a fallen tree."Thespia! Oh, Thesia!"

Thespia rolled her eyes as Oswin called her name.
"Shall I call him over, or would you prefer a girls only chat?"

Max slurped down his second glass and leaned back in his chair. "That is simply marvelous stuff, Darid. Is it available all year 'round?"
((Ok, I'm stuck here doing the equivalent of talking about the weather. What to do next?!))
