Finding his sword and a whetstone, Oswin sat with his legs over the edge of the caravan sharpening his sword.

((there is an h in whet; isn't there, whetstone?))
Thespia decresed her already slow speed and eased the caravan into what appeared to be an expansive feild that looked unused. It was between two large; grand estates.

((the picture is what I was referring to. absolutely vile.)) (( ;D He's my fav character in Romeo and Juliet for that reason)) Harry Hart was sitting up a tree near the market-place. He was hiding from the world, spying out for anyone remotely connected to his enemies to challenge, when the second person he wanted to see most appeared, Valerie Embourne(sp?).

Max turned to face the front of the caravan. "Why are we slowing down? We've only been going for a couple of hours."

Thespia gave him a wry smile, "I like this place," she said, "It's perfect for us, if we keep going we could end up outside a rubbish tip being pursued by Authorities for being Romany."

Sebastian was walking towards town, when he saw a caravan, brightly painted in the gypsy style. He raised one eyebrow, a small smile lighting his lips. "Hmmm... A tribe of Romany... I haven't seen that kind for a while." he murmured. The gypsies usually stayed away from this area, it was dangerous, not because they would be hunted, but because they might get caught in the crossfire of the feud. This group obviously didn't know about the two families yet, for they appeared to be stopping almost smack bang in the centre of the two estates. He shook his head with a wry smile. "Ah well, best go greet them." he said with a sigh, though inwardly he was more than pleased they had come. One year... Many years ago, his Master had decided he wanted to travel with gypsies for a year, and so they did. He liked the way they lived. So he went to greet them in the way one greets gypsies, bearing gifts. He was carrying a basket of cherries, to give to the mayor's wife, who had agreed to tell him her cherry pie recipe if he supplied the cherries. He waved widely as he approached the caravan. When Sebastian was young, his father had always given gifts of food and suchlike to the gypsies when they came, to thank them for the show they would most likely put on.

Thespia stepped lightly off her wagon and smiled pleasantly at the man approaching.
"Hallo there Sir," she said in her lilting Romany Accent. "We're not intruding here are we?"

Still sitting on the back of the caravan and sharpening his sword, Oswin listened to the conversation that was starting.

Sebastian just raised his eyebrow for a moment then chuckled and shook his head. "Not on me." he said with a knowing expression. "I'm Sebastian, I've brought a welcoming gift." he said, holding out the basket of cherries. Where once everyone brought a welcoming gift to gypsies, most people these days didn't even know about the custom.

Thespia smiled.
"A man who heeds the Old Customs, I like you more and more," she accepted the basket with a gracious nod.
"My Name is Thespia," she said, "This is Oswin," she gestured, "We are glad to make your acquaintence Sir."

Sebastian tilted his head with a smile. "If I am one of few who do so it is a pity, for the people must have forgotten what a show the Romany put on." he smiled, nodding to Oswin. "I am pleased to meet you and I welcome you to our town. Please feel welcome to visit my Master's home any time." he paused. "How long do you plan to be staying?"

((what the heck is Romany?)) Max jumped down from the caravan. "Don't introduce Max or anything, Thespia. If you only want it to be you and Oswin, fine. I'll leave you two in peace. As for Max, he'll greet this stranger with present grace and great prediction, of noble having and royal hope, that he will seem rapt withall. ((oh crap! I just remembered where that comes from! Wow, I have a good memory. Actually I think I had to learn that for drama. yes, that's why I remember it)) open arms and friendliness of such that is befitting of a humble gypsie to a noble gentleman such as yourself." Max made a gentle breeze carry surrounding daisies through the air around them and blow their petals down upon them. "I thank thee for thy hospitality."
((man, I'm in a fine speaking mood today))

((Lol?))
Henry Hart jumped out of the tree right in front of Valerie. "Why, if it isn't miss Embourne," he said with a toothy smile, displaying all his perfectly brushed teeth. "I don't suppose your father is around here somewhere? I could do with a REAL fight one of these days."

Sebastian raised an eyebrow, an amused smile lighting his face. "My greetings to you." he paused, watching the show with a laugh just behind his lips, which he masterfully controlled. "It is my pleasure to meet you Master Max, but I fear I haven't brought enough gifts to thank you for beginning the show."

"Fear not, dear master" Max went to put on a big display of charming language, but instead flashed over to Sebastian's side and leant forward to whisper in his ear, "Forget the other two, the stuck up things they are. They didn't even intoduce me! Let's go and I will show you the ways of the gypsies that I can see you so desire to know and in return, you wil show me what it's like to live a proper life. A civilised life. What's it's like to earn...money." He stepped back into a wall of autumn leaves that engulfed him so as to make it look like he materialized into them. They blew apart in a small explosion of wind and fell lightly to the ground. Max stood in the middle of it. "So what about it, eh?"

Sebastian looked at him for a moment, seeming unperturbed by all this. He turned with a warm smile. "I have lived the life of the gypsy, many years before you were born, and perhaps it is true that I am drawn to the freedom once more, but I am afraid you will not find my life to your liking. May I introduce myself properly, so that you know what you are asking. I am Sebastian Somover, Head Butler to the elven family the Embournes."

"Hello, Sebastian Somover Head Butler to the elven family the Embournes. How are you this fine and glorious day?" Clearly the news that Sebastian was butler to the Embournes was of on interest to Max. He had never heard of the rivalry between the two families. "Max is wondering whether that is your mansion over there?"

Sebastian smiled a little wryly. He pointed to the Embourne manner. "That is the house of my master." he said, shaking his head as Max was pointing to the Hart residence. "And I think it would be wise if you find another to take you around the town. I am not a safe companion to be with."
