Thespia sniffed, "Then maybe he would injure himself so fatally that we never see him again... well that's a big house."
She said as the Embourne Residence came in to view.

Max turned to Thespia and waved. "Well, I'll be seeing ya. Right now I'm off to inspect some worms with my good friend Sebastion here." And with that he followed Sebastion.

Sebastian had a fixed pleasant smile on his face, though not out of rudeness, more out of concentrating on not concentrating on the sword wound across his stomach. It wasn't a big deal, it wasn't like he was some weak human, he wouldn't die from it. But it hurt a little, and though it was already healing, he did not want to look at it. Or rather... He didn't want to think about the stain it was putting on his suit. Most bothersome really. "So Master Max, are you a particular fan of worms? Or are you rather more interested in the residence itself?" he asked, in a pleasant slightly chatty kind of way.

Valerie felt very abandoned. Her butler had stepped in when she needed him most (as usual), had recieved a nasty wound from it, and had just left the scene afterwards with hardly anything said to her! "Well!" she said, flustered, "Well! I think I shall return to the house now!" She stomped off to the manor house, far enough behind the other two that she didn't see them.
"What about me?!" Harry called after her. "Oh, whatever! I'll meet you again, Miss Embourne! And your stupid butler won't be there to save you next time!"

"Fan of worms? Don't be ridiculous! I was just making conversation," Max said in his sometimes confronting habit of blatantly stating the truth not taking into consideration anyone's feelings. "However the residence? Now that does sound interesting."

Sebastian almost laughed, something he had not done for some time. "If you are going to come to the residence, then you should have to learn to mind your tongue." he said, though he looked rather amused. "You are rather strange, I thought the Romany had no like of stationary homes or money."

With a look of great control on his face, Oswin resisted all of the sarcastic comments that immediately came to mind. Turning to Thespia, he said "So, do we follow him or continue our walk?"

"I have no won't for these things, I am merely curious to view such things. As you are probably curious to see what travelling with us would be like, however don't wish to do it permenantly. Max is a curious being."

[[yes, it is the gypsies own name for themselves. the word gypsy actually just comes from the myth they spread about themselves that they were fortune tellers from egypt. roma, romany, it just means human, it is what they call themselves]]
Sebastian merely smiled, rather enigmatically. "You might be surprised." he said mysteriously, though about what he spoke he didn't make clear. "Well, here we are." he said, gesturing to the huge complex of grand buildings.

Max stopped dead still, mouth gaping. All that he could manage to get out of his mouth was a quiet whisper, "Max is impressed."
Sebastian smiled wryly. "And this is only the main residence, there are other houses on other parts of the estate for each of the true blood Embournes." he said, though there was a slight ring of distaste in his voice. The Embournes hadn't always been this decadent and lazy. "You must forgive me, I must change however, please make yourself comfortable in the kitchen. The other servants will look after you until I come back." he said, pushing open one door into a hugely light and airy room, filled with the most delicious smells that one could ever have of smelt. People were bustling round, all doing different chores, laughing and chattering away. The all looked to the door when it opened. "Sebastian!" they cried, their smiles huge. Most of these people were the descendants of servants who had served with Sebastian for years, and he was the one who trained them, who made sure they were given rooms and such, and he was the head of the servant force, so in a way they looked up to him. "Hello everyone, I'm sorry, I didn't manage to get the shopping done yet, but I have bought a friend whom I think you will find quite enjoyable to be around. This is Max everyone, if you treat him well I'm sure you could get an interesting story out of him." he said pleasantly, his voice ringing out over the huge kitchen. He then smiled, pushing Max in and leaving himself. Max was surrounded by a flurry of people, herding him to a comfortable seat at a table which overlooked a huge window through which one could see the entire beautiful estate. After some initial chaos, most of them got back to work, but one stayed. "Hi, I'm Kyp, would you like something to eat?" she asked brightly.

Valerie (Okay... I only just realised that's my grandma's name...) went into the house, and stomped up the stairs to her room. She closed it, not slamming, but with the right sound to show anyone around that she was not in a mood to be disturbed. She went and slumped down on her bed.

"Hi Kyp," Max said, sitting down. "Max," he said, offering a hand. "And something to eat would be marvelous, thankyou."

Kyp was shortish, very pale like Sebastian and had long masses of silvery blonde hair held off her face by a thin band of leather. Her blue eyes twinkled, and she didn't stop smiling, even when she was talking. She zoomed off for a moment, expertly picking from different cupboards, before returning back to the table with a tray laden with food. There was a palm sized cinnamon scroll, with melted sugar oozing off the top, an assortment of slices of delicately cooked meats, chicken stuffed with garlic and herbs, lamb so tender it melted in the mouth, a bread roll fresh from the oven, and all kinds of other tidbits, as well as a glass of milk. "Sorry there is so little of it there, we aren't really prepared for guests this time of the day. If we had known you were coming..." she trailed off and gestured.

((my mouth is watering! y-u-m!!))
Max stared at the tray laden with food. He had gotten quite good at staring ever since he got here. "So little? It'll take me days to get through this! Thankyou so much. It all looks delicious" He picked up the cinnamon scroll and took a huge bite. "Mmmit's delibsmous. Mmbankoo!" Max found her eyes and silvery hair had a mesmerizing affect and continued a now well practised stare.

Kyp laughed, pulling out and sitting at the chair opposite him. It was strange, the masters and mistresses of the Embournes would most likely throw a tantrum at being given so little choice in what to eat. It was... refreshing. "You're to kind Master Max, but I hope it doesn't take you too long, you might miss out on tonight's dinner." she said brightly. "Oh yes, Master Max, you wouldn't want to miss out on a dinner cooked in the kitchen of Kyp." Sebastian had appeared out of nowhere, his suit now neat and unbloodied. Kyp smiled at him in greeting. "She is the best Master of the Kitchens' I believe we've ever had." Sebastian said, gesturing to the food on Max's plate. Kyp laughed, waving her hand dismissively. She paused, looking at Sebastian with a slightly troubled expression. "The Master Embourne hasn't been feeling well, I've heard." it was a question. "Yes, I should think we shall all have a new Master by the full moon in three day's time." he said unemotionally. "The young Mistress Valerie?" "I should think so. Anyway, forgive me Kyp, Master Max. I must see to Master Embourne, I should he think he is probably about to wake up. Take care of my friend, won't you Kyp?" She nodded. "Goodbye Sebastian." she said as he disappeared out the door.

Max busily picked at the food and gulped it down without so much as taking a breath. "Ceeba 'Bastian!" He gulped down a mouthful. "Do you just stay here all day, Kyp?"

Kyp laughed. "You're going to make yourself sick!" she chuckled. "Of course you're welcome to, but don't you want to see the rest of the residence? If we're lucky, Darid the Master of the Cellar will be in a generous mood, and then who knows what fun we'll have." she teased.

Now it was Max's turn to laugh. "Lead on, Kyp. Y'know what? I think you're fast becoming my new best friend!" He finished off his glass of milk in another large gulp.

Kyp just grinned. "Come now, you little traitor, what about Sebastian, you'll break his heart!" she laughed. She took his plate, taking it to a sink where a dark haired elf with soap suds up to his elbows took it. "Alrighty then, shall we be off?" she asked pleasantly.

Valerie had grown tired of her dreary wallpaper quite quickly, and longed to be outside again. She jumped down the stairs, and passed through the dinning room -
She blinked at the random dude sitting at their table. She saw Kyp standing near him and said, "I suppose it isn't really my business, but may I ask who's that sitting at our table?" She meant no offense, but was curious to know why there was a stranger in the house.

"Continue," said Thespia after considering the question, "I don't think I'll acknowledge his presence until I have stopped being angry with him for hitting me."

Kyp stood hurriedly when Valerie arrived, bowing swiftly. "Mistress Valerie, I did not know you had returned already. I am sure Sebastian is looking for you, he has some news which I believe you need to hear." she paused looking at Max, and her usual smile crept back onto her face. "This is Master Max, a friend of Sebastian's." she looked at the door, as though wishing to leave. Kyp was the Master of the Kitchens', she didn't usually have to deal with the Embournes in person, that was Sebastian's job. She wasn't sure about what he said, this girl being the next Master Embourne, but it wasn't her place to ask questions. "We were just going to go down to the cellars."
